Free Trade Blues

from Rare and Spares by Kurt Swinghammer

/

about

Avi Lewis asked me to write a short song that was to be included in a journalism piece he was making for MUCHmusic about the Free Trade Deal that Canada was entering into with Mexico & the US. I wrote the song, and we shot it on a street corner in Toronto, and when they edited everything together it was decided to drop my performance. Down the road the fine folks at DROG Records in Guelph asked me to participate in a fun project - a compilation of one minute long songs. Free Trade Blues just so happened to time out perfectly, so I happily contributed it. This is first time the track has been available for download.
